It was less than a year ago, in April of 2011, to be exact, that I was first introduced to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. And since that time, my life has been blessed in so many various ways.
Moreso than anything else, however, the show pointed me to a certain set of values, and moral lessons, that I realized I had let slip in my life. Values of Friendship, Honesty, Loyalty, Kindness, Laughter, and Generosity. Also my relationship with Christ and with God had been suffering, though I was blind to it. This show helped me to see that, though, and helped me to rekindle my compassion towards humanity.
Love is lacking in our broken world. Dearly lacking.
It is my hope that through the lessons of Pony, we can reach out to those who are lost, and help them. Even if you don't believe in God, the lessons of FiM, and the virtues of the Elements of Harmony are something that we can all believe in.
I'll be starting, next Sunday, Jan 29th, a 6-week series of essays on the elements, and how the teachings of the Bible relate to them, starting with the element of GENEROSITY.
